Sprout Social is our scheduling software of choice, but it’s so much more than that, it’s a powerful management and engagement platform allowing us to post to multiple social networks for multiple client’s.

It offers a single stream inbox designed meaning we never miss a message. You can choose what messages you see, from direct messages, new followers, retweets with comments and mentions. Each message can be ticked off when completed or you can create a task and assign it to someone from your team so they can follow up if you are dealing with a complaint. The reporting section allows you to view a large selection of analytical data, and pull off branded reports, whether you want to just see Twitter insights or a Group Report incorporating as many social profiles as you choose. With the discover section you can search for keywords, it suggests people who you should follow and the ‘clean up’ section tells you who doesn’t follow back, or lists dormant accounts.

Good grammar and spelling are essential when posting on social media, not only as it reflects badly on your business but soon your comments section will be full of people correcting your spelling! Once downloaded onto your computer, Grammarly will let you know when you’ve typed a mistake and show you the correctly spelt word and grammar alterations. It works for any web-based program so it the widget shows up onFacebook and Twitter. Grammarly has also recently just released an app on ios, so now there are no excuses for bad grammar and spelling mistakes.

Sourcing interesting content is an important part of social media marketing and Buzzsumo is an invaluable content curation tool. Using keywords it lists any relevant content. You can adjust how far back it searches. It also shows how many times the particular piece of content has been shared and how many Facebook engagements the content has. As well as content Buzzsumo can search for influencers and it also monitors your social profiles.

Canva is a great tool when you need to create an image for social media. It offers different graphic types so you can choose for the social platform you will be posting to, whether it’s a Facebook post or a Twitter cover image, it comes in the correct size. They also have loads of free stock images, layouts and icons that you can incorporate into your designs, including many more that you can pay for.

Canva is free but they do have paid plans for businesses if you want to access more features.

Workplace is a relatively new collaborative platform run by Facebook offering the social networks feature in a company environment. It allows you to communicate with your team, whether as a whole or to groups, ie. ‘design team.’ You can also post content that your team may find interesting.

Trello is a productivity platform that allows you to manage projects and tasks. Trello is made up of boards, basically, a list of lists, filled with cards, used by you and your team. You can manage the different stages of a project or the process of onboarding a new client, or managing a social media strategy.
